Farm Tour: Cinta Senese Tuscan pig
A unique experience to meet the famous tuscan two-colored pig
The Cinta Senese is an ancient breed coming from the Siena area, characterized by a black coat and a pink “belt”. The breeders know their pigs one by one, they are bred in the semi-wild state with feed compliant with the Italian DOP and cereals cultivated in the Tuscan countryside. A rural and memorable experience in the farms of the area of Valdichiana Senese including a walk between the vineyard and the olive grove to interact with the “domestic” pigs having fun in the mud. You will learn the history of the Cinta Senese pig and the organoleptic properties of its fine meat and you will learn how to recognize high quality salami. At the end of the tour you will delight your palate with a lunch based on farm products.
Tour includes:
- Visit to the Cinta Senese breeding farm and meeting with the pigs and explanation about their breed;
- Light lunch including the breeding farm’s products.
