The farm “Le Bertille”, part of a property located in the western and southeastern area of Montepulciano, covers an area of about 22 hectares, 15 of which are cultivated with vineyards. The company also includes, in addition to the secular olive grove and a beautiful lake, the old farmhouse, now restored and converted into a well-kept farmhouse, whose name is “San Gallo”: located on the road between Montepulciano and Pienza, after the restoration of an old farmhouse and its outbuildings, now it has 6 apartments furnished in the name of a happy balance between the ancient Tuscan tradition and all modern comforts. The soil mainly consists of tuff and clay, and the winery cultivates those vineyards, which are traditionally related to the area of Montepulciano: Sangiovese (in its local clone: “Prugnolo Gentile”), Ciliegiolo, Colorino, Canaiolo, and a small amount of Merlot. The accurate management of the harvest and wine-making processes makes it possible to produce wines of excellent quality, even if limited in the amount.
