The land owned by the Company “Avignonesi” stretches in the area between Montepulciano and Cortona, on a total surface area of 182 hectares, constantly supervised in the sign of a deep respect for the characteristics of the surrounding environment, according to the principles of organic agriculture. Since the mid-seventies, Avignonesi has played a vital role in the quality improvement process of Vino Nobile produced in the area, clearly identifying the characteristics and specific qualities that distinguish the wines of Montepulciano from other wines, made from Sangiovese, equally famous in Tuscany, such as Brunello di Montalcino and Chianti Classico. The core of the winery is undoubtedly represented by the Farm “Le Capezzine”, divided into 4 parcels, which produce Vino Nobile di Montepulciano, Rosso di Montepulciano, Vin Santo and “Occhio di Pernice”. The area cultivated with vineyards stretches, currently, on 7.47 hectares of vines divided into three parts, including the famous “Vigna Tonda ‘. It is located 300 meters above sea level, and the ground is mainly clayey and sandy.
