The farm “Le Bèrne”, owned by Natalini family, covers a total surface area of 18,5 hectares, 10 of which cultivated with vineyards, in the territory of Cervognano. The winery avails itself of the professional collaboration with the renowned enologist Paolo Vagaggini, with whom the family is planning the improvement of agricultural experimentation and the refinement of winemaking techniques. The company’s name comes from an ancient Etruscan word, which indicates a hillock where one can “svernare” [an Italian word meaning “to spend the winter time”]. The main grape variety here cultivated is Sangiovese (in its local clone: “Prugnolo Gentile”); for the remainder, there are other local varieties (such as “Colorino” and “Mammolo”), essential for the production of an excellent wine.
